Custom Bar Tops

Custom Bar Tops Built By Hand

Solid wood, live edge character, epoxy detail, and a finish made to hold up in real spaces.

Every bar top starts with the slab. The grain, the edge, the knots, and the natural movement all help shape where the piece is going before we ever make the first cut.

We build custom bar tops for home bars, basement bars, cottages, restaurants, breweries, and commercial spaces across Ontario, including Ottawa, Rockland, Orléans, Barrhaven, Nepean, and Kanata.

Some pieces stay clean and natural. Others get epoxy, colour, depth, and a little more attitude. Either way, the goal is simple: build something solid, useful, and impossible to copy.

Our Process

From Raw Slab To Finished Bar Top

A custom bar top is never just a flat surface. It starts rough, with a slab that already has its own grain, edge, movement, and character. Our job is to bring that out without making it feel overworked.

We shape, sand, pour, cure, finish, and refine every piece by hand. Some bar tops are clean solid wood. Some get epoxy rivers, filled voids, deep colour, or glass-like clarity. The process changes depending on the slab, the space, and the look we are after.

Built Around The Wood

Black walnut, maple, ash, oak, burl wood, and live edge slabs all behave differently. That is part of what makes the work interesting. We follow the natural shape of the wood and build around the details that make each piece worth keeping.

01. Slab Selection

We start with solid hardwood that has the right grain, size, edge, and character for the bar top.

02. Cutting & Prep

The slab is shaped, flattened, stabilized, and prepared before any epoxy or finish work begins.

03. Epoxy & Detail

Voids, rivers, cracks, and design details can be filled with clear, black, green, blue, or custom epoxy.

04. Final Finish

The surface is sanded smooth and finished for durability, depth, and everyday use.

Made For Homes, Bars, Cottages, And Commercial Spaces

A custom bar top has to look good, but it also has to be built for real use. Drinks, elbows, plates, cleaning, late nights, and everyday wear all matter when we are choosing the wood, finish, thickness, and design.

We build each piece around the space it is going into. Some clients want a clean black walnut bar top with a natural live edge. Others want a bold epoxy pour that becomes the main feature of the room. Either way, the final piece should feel like it belongs there.

Home Bar Tops

Built for basements, entertainment rooms, cottages, pool houses, and personal bar setups that need something warmer than a standard surface.

Live Edge Designs

Natural edges, knots, grain, cracks, and slab movement are preserved whenever possible so the wood keeps its original character.

Epoxy Bar Tops

Clear, black, green, blue, metallic, and custom epoxy pours can be used to fill voids, create rivers, or add depth to the finished piece.

Built Locally, Made To Travel

We regularly build custom bar tops for homes and businesses throughout Ottawa, Rockland, Orléans, Barrhaven, Nepean, Kanata, and surrounding Ontario communities.

Because each piece is custom, we are not limited to one city or one style. Whether the project is a basement bar in Barrhaven, a cottage bar outside Rockland, a restaurant feature in Ottawa, or a commercial counter in Kanata, the process starts with the same goal: build something solid with real character.

FAQ

Custom Bar Top Questions

How much does a custom bar top cost?

Pricing depends on the size, wood species, epoxy work, thickness, finish, and installation details. A small home bar top will price differently than a large commercial bar or a live edge epoxy feature piece.

What wood works best for a custom bar top?

Black walnut, maple, oak, ash, cherry, and burl wood are all strong options. The right choice depends on the look, durability needs, grain preference, and whether epoxy will be part of the design.

Can epoxy be used in a bar top?

Yes. Epoxy can be used for river designs, filled cracks, natural voids, transparent fills, or custom colour accents. Every pour behaves a little differently, which is part of what makes the finished piece unique.

Do you build bar tops for commercial spaces?

Yes. We can build custom bar tops for restaurants, breweries, offices, lounges, reception areas, and other commercial spaces that need a durable, handcrafted surface.

Do you serve Ottawa and surrounding areas?

Yes. We build custom bar tops for clients throughout Ottawa, Rockland, Orléans, Barrhaven, Nepean, Kanata, and surrounding Ontario communities.

Can the bar top be made to match other furniture?

Yes. A bar top can be designed to coordinate with coffee tables, dining tables, office furniture, shelving, or other custom pieces in the same space.
